ODP Izmir Branch said that it's completely wrong to choose Inciraltı district for 2015 EXPO organization. ODP Izmir Branch adduced that Inciralti which is an urban preservation area have been choosen intentionally for getting profit.
ODP said Inciraltı district officially registered as first degree natural protected area by Izmir 1. Culture and Natural Assets Conservation District Comittee. Besides this, Inciraltı district is an agricultural area and there is a Provincial Directorate of Agriculture's decission which says it's not appropriate to usage this area for any purpose other than agriculture. Furthermore, this area registered as "agricultural preservation area" by the Izmir Metropolitan Municipal Council's 1/25000 scaled Izmir Urban Building Development Scheme.
ODP said Izmiralti district have to be protected as a heritage of the humanity and it's needed to develop an "ecological plan" including the usage of Balcova Dam for irrigation, the development of the soil quality and abrogation of the factors which are resulting deterioration in soil quality.
